Authors who publish with us are requested to sign a Journal Publishing Agreement upon acceptance of their article. As part of this agreement, Authors transfer exclusive rights, including full copyright, to the journal owner, while retaining certain rights themselves (such as patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights, including research data). Permitted third-party reuse of the open access articles is subsequently defined by the applicable Creative Commons (CC) end-user license. All articles that are published under the CC BY 4.0 license, meaning that end users can freely share an article (i.e. copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt it (i.e. remix, transform and build upon the material) on the condition that proper attribution is given (i.e. appropriate credit, a link to the applicable license and an indication if any changes were made, all in such a way that does not suggest that the licensor endorses the user or the use) .
Which License Do You Need?

Copyright holds the rights of the owner's intellectual property and grants the owner(s) to copy, distribute, display, remix, adapt and build upon an original work and evaluate the permissibility and terms for usage of the original work by others. This have control of the stakeholders (Authors, societies, or funders), publishers and to a larger extent the research community can publish and share the original content.
To disseminate the content, Nexus Press needs publishing rights. This is determined by the "Content" Publishing Agreement (Content = Journal or proceeding) between the authors and the publisher. Authors sign the publishing agreement where the authors hold the copyright for their content. And provide exclusive rights to the publisher to publish/disseminate in all forms and media including for commercial use of the article.
